Layers and Materials

The plugin automatically assigns materials to layers based on the layer names.

In the following video, we guide you through on how to ensure if all your layers are correctly defined and materials are accurately assigned.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Standard Layer Naming Conventions:

-Gold/Metal Materials: Layers named Metal, Metal 01, Metal 02, Metal 03, Metal 04, Head, or Heads will automatically get assigned gold/metal materials. -Diamond Materials: Layers named Gem, Gem 01, Gem 02, Gem 03, or Gem 04 will be assigned diamond materials.

  1. Editing Layer Names:

You can rename layers in the configurator to set it as per your preferences. This allows for better organization and customization of materials.

  1. Handling Unwanted Elements:

If you find extra elements that don’t fit your design, simply select the layer in Rhino and disable it. This will hide the layer, and it won’t appear in the plugin.

  1. Correcting Material Assignments:

If the same material is applied to multiple diamonds (grouped in the same layer), you can easily separate them in Rhino. Just ungroup the diamonds and assign different layer names to each for accurate material application.

Follow along with the above video to ensure your designs are perfectly prepared for presentation with iJewel Viewer.

Sharing

After creating and customizing your jewelry models, you can share them with your clients or other designers. Click the share button at the top of the viewer to generate a link that can be shared with anyone. The link remains active for 7 days and can be used to view the model in the viewer.

The shared model can be viewed on any device, including mobile phones, tablets, and desktops. The viewer is optimized for all screen sizes and provides a smooth and interactive experience for the user.

To share the model permanently and build your personal portfolio, check out ijewel.design - a platform for designers and jewelers to showcase their 3D models and connect with clients and collaborators.

Encryption

Models can be also be encrypted(password protected) before sharing. Before sharing the model, click the Encrypt button, and you will be prompted for a password to encrypt the model. The encrypted model can only be viewed by entering the correct password.

All the encryption happens locally on your machine, and the password is not stored or transmitted to the server. The encryption is based on AES-256 encryption, which is a widely used and secure encryption algorithm.
